January – CABNAB creator Anthony Okereafor is named one of the UK’s Points of Light by the Rt Hon David Cameron, The Prime Minister, for his work in using basketball to combat knife crime.

March – NASSA receives its first minibus, presented by former Chelsea footballer Dennis Wise on behalf of the Dennis Wise and Frankham Consultancy Group Trust.

June – NASSA founder and chief executive Natasha Hart is made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to sport in East London.

September – NASSA hosts a team from abroad for the first when Russian basketball club Dynamo Moscow pay a three-day visit, which includes an Under-15s game between the two clubs and a reception at the Houses of Parliament.

2016

January – NASSA’s England Basketball National League membership is now up to 602.
